DAYTRIP TO THE FERLEITEN ALPINE ZOO
With a huge playground for the children.
Our trip will lead you past Bruck, the starting point of the »Großglockner high road«, through Fusch and passing the waterfall of Walch to Ferleiten. The Alpine Zoo is located just next to the toll station to the highest part of this road over the Alps. Ferleiten is part of the Käfertal valley, and is the starting point for many hikes in the central area of the National Park of »Hohe Tauern«.
In the Zoo itself you can walk past, even touching and feeding some of the local wildlife, some of which aren’t found anywhere else in the world! The deer, chamois and ibex, along with brown bears, wolves and wild cats are waiting to meet you in their natural environment.
In the adjoining play ground, the children of the family could find enough to do for the rest of the holiday. So many different attractions from an electric Pony Ride, Jet-Scooter and Nautic Jet, to more traditional trampolines, swings and slides keep the children happy whilst the parents are enjoying coffee and cakes on the terrace of the restaurant. Best of all, the playground is for free and you only have to pay for the automated rides.
For people who fancy fishing, there is also a chance to organize a fishing licence for the stream nearby (please let us know when booking), where you can catch trout and other salmon related catch.
