NATURE’S THEATRE OF WATER AND LIGHT
Roaring waterfalls and impressive stone masses.
This trip brings us near St Johann in Pongau. There we reach the gorgeous ravine of »Liechtensteinklamm«, which has been quoted as the most beautiful in the Alpine region by many.
The ravine was opened for the tourists already 1875, after prince Johann II gave financial help to the local Alpine club and made the building of wooden pavements and bridges possible.
The roaring waters from a water fall have been digging this canyon through the mountain for thousands of years, which at places is 30m deep and still only a couple of meters wide. The walk through is an unforgettable experience, with small rainbows created by the sun catching the drops of water in the air, as the water finds its way down through the masses of stone.
The hike through is easy even for children and elderly as the route is well prepared. That said, please don’t forget your cameras!
